Christmas Post left to sit way too long

It's embarrassing how long I saved this one before posting it. But good new is that the ideas behind it can apply to any time, any holiday, any season. Every year for Christmas I try to do something different when I wrap my Christmas presents. This last year I decided to go 'old school' and I wrapped all my gifts the same in brown paper and twine. For gifts that were too awkward to be wrapped easily I used holiday paper bags from the grocery store, with my own little artistic addition of course.
Then I made handmade tags using craft paper for all my family members, and for my husband I decorated brown envelopes, and made little handmade notes to put inside, one for every gift.
I loved the finished product. Still so Christmas-y and yet easily distinguishable from everyone else's. I plan on using this again through out the year. It would be so cute in the spring for Easter, summer birthdays, or for a baby shower even. Almost anything is possible with a little creativity.

Garst Family Photos

A close friend asked if I minded shooting some family photos for them on New Years morning, since it would be one of the few time they would all be together for a while. I was excited since I hadn't had a chance to use my photo trigger finger in a while. They were a very expressive bunch and within the group of photos I got, it was hard to find my favorites. That being said a few stood out and those are the ones I am sharing with you here. Enjoy! I know I did.

Katie and Daniels Wedding Day

Last month I had the honor of participating in a very close friends wedding. Now as you can imagine, bridesmaids duties don't leave a lot of time for extra snapping, but it did get this one. At her bridal shower Katie received this beautiful hanger with her name to be inscribed on it. It was the prefect detail for her wonderful day and I was honored to be able to spend it with her. I am so excited for her as she starts this new chapter in her life. She moves to Hawaii soon to be with her hubby on the  Marine base in Oahu. Best wishes to you Katie and Daniel, Congrats!
